    The Basic Braid: 7-Step Process

    1

    Detangle (2 minutes)

Brush bottom-to-top. Run fingers scalp to ends with zero snags before proceeding.

    2

    Position

Her: sitting. You: directly behind, able to see crown clearly. Bad posture = crooked braids.

    3

    Divide into 3 equal sections

Left hand: left section. Right hand: right section. Middle rests between.

    4

    The Cross Pattern

RIGHT over MIDDLE. LEFT over MIDDLE. Repeat until 2 inches from ends.

    5

    Tension Control

Goldilocks principle: Too loose falls apart. Too tight causes pain. Just right = snug but zero scalp pulling.

    6

    Secure the End

Hold all sections in one hand. Wrap elastic 3-4 times until it grips firmly.

    7

    Quality Check

Uniform thickness? Lies flat? Clear crossing pattern? No loops? REDO if not.

    Days 1-7 Challenge Standards

    • Takes less than 5 minutes
    • ZERO pain complaints
    • Stays intact minimum 8 hours
    • Same thickness throughout

🔒 LOCKOUT RULE: Miss these standards? Repeat Days 1-7.

    The Bottom Line

You're about to find out which side of the 87% line you're on. The Dads who quit, or the Dads who show up.

Your daughter is watching. She'll remember who learned to braid her hair.

    It's 3am and you're awake again

replaying that fumbled conversation with your daughter about the divorce.

Tomorrow's evaluation? You're going to wing it... and the evaluator's going to write "unprepared Father."

That costs you 78 days every year.
